How temporary charges work during your ride

Don't worry, your trip will NOT END if your deposit runs out!

If you start a ride and your Veo Wallet has no money (or your Veo wallet falls below $1 during an active ride), Veo puts a temporary charge on your card just to make sure you've got enough money to cover the ride. That charge isn't final—it's just a "hold."

What happens after that?

  • If you don't use all of the "hold" money, it'll be saved and used for your next ride within 24 hours.
  • If you don't ride again in that time, whatever money's left from the hold goes back to your card.

If Veo gives you a refund or adjusts your ride during that 24-hour window, that money also goes back into the "hold" amount and will be used for your next ride. After 24 hours, anything leftover just gets refunded back to your card.

One last thing

Your bank might take 3–5 more business days after that to actually show the refund or release on your statement, so don't worry if it doesn't show up right away.
